Podontia affinis is a species of leaf beetle in the family Chrysomelidae, found in parts of South and Southeast Asia. It is medium-sized, usually yellow to orange with black spots on its elytra, giving it a distinctive appearance. Both adults and larvae feed on the leaves of Garcinia species, including economically important plants like mangosteen. Heavy infestations can lead to defoliation, making it a potential pest in cultivated areas. Despite this, it is also an important component of local ecosystems, contributing to plant–insect interactions and serving as prey for natural predators.
