Eutropis multifasciata (common sun skink or many-lined sun skink) is a robust lizard in the family Scincidae, widely distributed across South and Southeast Asia. It has a shiny, elongated body with smooth, overlapping scales, typically brown to bronze in color with darker longitudinal stripes along the sides. Highly adaptable, it thrives in forests, grasslands, agricultural areas, and even urban environments. An omnivore, it feeds on insects, small invertebrates, fruits, and plant matter. Active during the day, it often basks in the sun and plays an important role in controlling insect populations while serving as prey for larger animals.
