Promecotheca sp. is a genus of brightly colored leaf beetles (family Chrysomelidae), often metallic green, blue, or golden. These beetles are typically found on host plants where both adults and larvae feed on leaves, sometimes causing noticeable defoliation. Distributed mainly in tropical Asia and surrounding regions, they play a role in plant–insect interactions but can also be minor agricultural pests.
