Crocothemis servilia servilia (scarlet skimmer) is a striking dragonfly in the family Libellulidae, widely distributed across Asia. Males are easily recognized by their bright scarlet-red bodies and wings tinged with red at the base, while females and immature individuals are typically yellowish-brown. They are commonly found near ponds, lakes, marshes, and slow-moving streams, where they perch conspicuously on twigs or rocks. As agile aerial hunters, they feed on mosquitoes and other small flying insects, playing an important role in freshwater ecosystems and natural pest control.
