Chalky Percher (Diplacodes trivialis)

Diplacodes trivialis (chalky percher) is a widespread dragonfly in the family Libellulidae, common across Asia and Australia. Males are easily recognized by their pale bluish or chalky-white bodies as they mature, while females and young males are yellowish to brown with darker markings. They are frequently seen perching low on grasses, twigs, or rocks near ponds, rice fields, and slow-moving water. Active hunters, they feed on small flying insects such as mosquitoes, contributing to natural pest control in freshwater habitats.
