Charidotella sexpunctata (golden tortoise beetle) is a small leaf beetle native to the Americas, belonging to the family Chrysomelidae. It is best known for its brilliant, reflective gold coloration, which can change to reddish-brown when the beetle is disturbed or agitated. Adults and larvae feed mainly on plants in the morning glory and sweet potato family (Convolvulaceae), sometimes causing minor damage to foliage. Its striking, jewel-like appearance makes it one of the most recognizable tortoise beetles, and it serves as an example of structural coloration in nature.
