Aspidimorpha miliaris (golden tortoise beetle) is a brightly colored leaf beetle belonging to the family Chrysomelidae, distributed across South and Southeast Asia. Its distinctive golden, metallic sheen on the elytra gives it a jewel-like appearance, though the coloration can change to reddish-brown when the beetle is disturbed. The larvae feed mainly on plants in the morning glory and bindweed families (Convolvulaceae), sometimes causing damage to crops. Despite this, the species is admired for its striking beauty and is an interesting example of structural coloration in insects.
